Robusta Asalan Temanggung
Our Robusta Asalan Temanggung represents traditional Indonesian robusta coffee processing at its finest. Sourced from the Temanggung highlands of Central Java, this coffee is processed using the "asalan" method—a natural dry process where whole coffee cherries are sun-dried without washing or hulling, preserving the rustic, full-bodied character that defines traditional Indonesian robusta.
The asalan process is the most traditional and cost-effective method, requiring minimal water and equipment. Coffee cherries are spread on drying beds and turned regularly until fully dried, then hulled to remove the dried fruit and parchment. This method produces a distinctively bold, earthy robusta with pronounced body and low acidity—ideal for espresso blends, instant coffee production, and markets preferring strong, traditional coffee flavors.
Temanggung's volcanic soil and moderate altitude (600-900 masl) create optimal conditions for robusta cultivation. Our Q Grader certified team applies the same rigorous quality control standards to our robusta offerings, including physical analysis, moisture content verification, and cupping evaluation. We support our Temanggung partner farmers with equipment, training, and fair compensation to maintain consistent quality.
